Portrait of the Fisk Jubilee Singers, 1873, by Edmund Havel, commissioned by Queen Victoria, England. In 1873, the Fisk Jubilee Singers embarked on a gruelling international tour that changed the course of history. Jubilee Hall today is home to a life-size portrait of the 11 Fisk Jubilee Singers who traveled to England, painted by British artist Edmund Havell in the 1870s. The portrait was created to mark the occasion of the second band of Singers who traveled to Europe and sang before Kings and Queens.
