Thus, I was very interested when Henry Repeating Arms, of Bayonne, N.J., announced the Long Ranger, a rotary-fed lever action in short-action calibers .223 Rem., .243 Win, 6.5 Creedmoor and .308 Win., with a 20-inch, free-floating barrel. Why those calibers?

It was with some interest I heard of their Long Ranger, a design far removed from the aforementioned rifles and for that matter calibres.

Rifle Review: Henry Long Ranger 6.5 Creedmoor. Henry Arms Long Ranger is a premium-grade, long range lever action rifle capable of doing everything a bolt gun can do at 300+ yards. One of those rifles is the Henry Long Ranger in 6.5 Creedmoor, which I used on a deer hunt last December. When you need distance and precision, Henry gives you a whole new hunt with the Long Ranger. Trigger was not long range friendly.
Henry sent a .243 model for review,and several things were obvious even before I took the gun to the range. Guns and Shooting Online subsequently published articles suggesting other short action cartridges for the Long Ranger, including .257 Roberts , .260 Remington , 7mm-08 Remington , .338 Federal and .358 Winchester .

John says that, at least for a sling shooter, the .243 Win is hard to beat at long range. The walnut furniture is absolutely gorgeous. Wow!
