Ivar's descent into madness on Vikings continued with him telling his brother, Hvitserk, that he is a god, after Freydis helped him realize this potential in the previous episode.
Ivar apparently did not participate in the Viking campaign—ultimately unsuccessful—to take Wessex from King Alfred in the 870s. He wouldn't stop to kill his whole family. Instead he renewed his partnership with Olaf the White and entered what is now Scotland.Their army overran and destroyed Dumbarton, capital of the Strathclyde kingdom, in 870. And Ivar appears to be taking down his other brother Hvitserk. East Anglians did not resist, made peace with the Vikings and even gave them horses. At first, it was hinted that it would be his brother Hvitserk, and when that became too obvious, the trailer hinted that the sacrifice would be Kattegat's soothsayer, the Seer. Following the past three weeks of Vikings, viewers have been left with all of the questions. However, that will be too obvious. The following year the two returned in triumph to Dublin. However, some fans have been reflecting on the previous series and how Sigurd got killed and who was behind his death. Ivar seems to be killing off everyone who is loyal to him, including wanting to sacrifice his own brother with Freydis’ strong influence. Like, he kills his brother and then asks for forgiveness and tells you he never meant to do it. In episode 14 of 'Vikings' season 5B, Ivar the Boneless decided to make a major sacrifice to establish his self-proclaimed godhood. The events of the episode will lead viewers to draw the conclusion that Ivar will probably sacrifice his brother Hvitserk. Is Ivar going to kill his own brother Hvitserk? Even if Rollo betrayed Ragnar several times he would have never killed him. A scene in the episode shows The Seer lying down during the sacrifice only to jump out of bed, further teasing that the sacrifice … Hes the complete opposite of Ragnar. Also Ivar's character is so weak. Without thinking, Ivar grabbed a nearby ax and ... his brother. So with Bjorn, Ubbe and Hvitserk out of the picture, Magnus is the only Son Of Ragnar left who could rightfully overthrow Ivar. According to some other accounts, Ivar the Boneless crossed the North Sea and invaded East Anglia with his brothers Halfdan Ragnarsson and Ubbe in 865. He killed his own brother. I would like to see the reaction of Ragnar when he sees what his son Ivar did after his death. His reign has arguably just begun, and it is time for it to come to an end.In the brief bit of time he has ruled, King Ivar has already overstayed his welcome. VIKINGS season 5 is on a midseason break with a return later this year. Watching Ivar drunk with power and thinking he’s a god has definitely been entertaining, especially since we don’t really know Freydis’ true motivation here.
