So I would say Vial is a safe buy but Cavern might get reprinted, especially as it fits into the upcoming Shadows over Innistrad block.
Snapcaster is a pretty great idea because it helps answer his inefficiency. Aether Vial is one of those cards that will never see a reprint in a Standard-legal set (alongside Damnation, Serum Visions, Tarmogoyf and company). If its reprint hadn't already been imminent I think it probably would have had a healthy price spike. Skullclamp was also very notorious in Standard as well for over-powering creature decks, making them very resilient even to mass destruction and providing a lot of card advantage at a very small cost.
On an unrelated note Aether Vial is way too powerful for this standard.
Cavern of Souls on the other hand isn't that powerful in Standard, especially if there are not that many good counterspells in the format.
