This June, Anchorage PrideFest commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising and a half-century of LGBTQIA+ liberation. Anchorage PrideFest week kicked off Saturday with stories of mentorship, parenting, and what it means to be LGBTQ 50 years after the Stonewall riots. PrideFest is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Each year, along with our allies, we demonstrate our pride with a host of special events throughout Anchorage. More than 40% of Alaska’s population lives in Anchorage, so you can bet there’s a consistently large turnout for the annual PrideFest. Pride is the power of bodily autonomy, to be able to present our bodies and tell the world WHO we truly are… Power is THE ABILITY to make OUR OWN choices, to choose whom we love and be our authentic selves. In 2019, an estimated 12,000 people attended Pride Festival and the Pride Parade! Join us Sept. 11-13, 2020 for a whole weekend of festivities!

Hundreds of people lined the streets in downtown Anchorage for the Equality Parade on Saturday during 2019 Anchorage Pride Week. This 5K run, or walk, will be held along Ship Creek trail near downtown and is an official Alaska PrideFest Event.
